Hello once again Brothers!
Just like that the shortest month of the year is past us. We had our first in person meeting this year with the February stated communication. It was great to get together with members of the Lodge I haven’t seen in a long time. I’m looking forward to next month’s meeting and hope that more will be able to attend.
During the meeting we presented Worshipful Brother Haddow with the Mason of the Year award for 2020. Last year was a strange one, that’s for sure, and WB Haddow led the Lodge through it and we came out just as strong as ever. We all appreciate the leadership WB Haddow showed during his second run as WM.
I hope everyone has gotten outside to enjoy the last couple of beautiful days we’ve had as we’re coming out of winter. I’d planned to get this letter taken care of yesterday while we had plans for chores around the house. The sunshine and warm temps made us cancel those plans and go out for a drive and a few flights with my drone. Sometimes you just have to let the chores wait while you recharge yourself with time outside. I’m pretty sure that’s what I learned from the 24 inch gauge, right?
March will see a few things going on at Lodge. We’re having a FC degree practice on the 10th. It’s been so long since we’ve done a degree, and some of the officers haven’t done one at all, that it should knock some of the rust loose in the old brain. We will have our regular communication as well in person unless the State or Grand Lodge restrict things again. Third Wednesday as usual at 7:30pm. I understand some of Grand Lodge will be in attendance to present the Lodge with an award. The annual Irish Dinner is tentatively scheduled for the 13th. We’ll be evaluating in the next couple days how we’re going to proceed based on health guidelines. There’s also a 5th Wednesday this month, so we’ll have our usual informal meeting and social hour. And speaking of social hour, there’s always the Sunday Social where we hang out and chat over snacks and drinks, usually at the Lodge at 7:30ish until folks head home.
As always Brothers, it’s an honor to serve you as Worshipful Master. If there’s anything I can do to help, or if there’s any questions you have, please feel free to reach out to me.
